My writing and multimedia content covers travel, hotels, culture, design, wellness and entrepreneurship, and has been featured by media outlets across North America and Europe including the LA Times, CN Traveler, Vogue, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, Forbes, Refinery 29, Popsugar, BlackBook Magazine, Haute Living Magazine, Sloane Magazine, Medium, Destination Canada, and Discover America. I was the featured contributor for one of the early multimedia content programs with The New Yorker + Canadian Tourism, and was selected to join the inaugural Condé Nast Traveler #WomenWhoTravel trip to Bermuda. In addition to writing, I have worked through blogging, content marketing and content creation (including hosting video & podcasts), copywriting, editing, photography, social media storytelling and speaking engagements.
Carrie wrote a children’s travel book “To Be We: The Adventures of Owen and Lucy” dedicated to her niece & nephew in 2017. The book is for preschool ages to introduce concepts of international travel and culture. “Siblings Owen and Lucy dream about the possibility of world travel and exploring new cultures. What different languages and food will they encounter? Who will they meet along the way? "To Be We: The Adventures of Owen and Lucy" tells the story of adventurous young minds celebrating diversity, and learning more about themselves in the process”.
Carrie’s upcoming road trip memoir is due Spring 2020
As a multimedia storyteller, I have been a journalist, on-air host, blogger, writer and photographer. Often times I work on pieces that combine these aspects for visual and interactive coverage. One example of this being chosen as the correspondent for the award winning multimedia program ‘The Summer Festival Tour’ in partnership with Destination Canada and The New Yorker. This included covering seven arts festivals across the Canada, while live blogging, conducting interviews, shooting/editing video, photographing, and creating social media content.
